Prawn Salad Soft Tortillas
With the warmer weather fading it doesn't mean you have to pack away those yummy salads just yet. Apart from the healthy benefits of eating salads, they can be simply jazzed up by adding really anything (like prawns).
Summer by the beach always reminds me of the air filled with BBQ prawns, family gatherings and just all out good times. You know those moments when you're just sitting around a table have a great laugh and pondering over stories of times gone past. Sometimes secretly over indulging in too much food too!
This super flavour packed prawn salad tortilla is a great way to continue enjoying all those flavours of summer. You don't even have to cook on a BBQ if you don't want! Why Uber Eats or Deliveroo when you can enjoy food like this in under 15mins from start to eat.
Why are prawns good for you?
Not only are prawns low in calories when compared with other protein sources but they also have about 30g protein per 150g quantity. So it's easy to see why they do pack a bang. But I get it... some of you are probably screwing up your noses at them. Seafood can be very much an acquired taste. But that's the beauty of this recipes versatility. Swap out the prawns for chicken, beef or even tofu it's totally up to you!
So you can produce a great quality meal for your family regardless of the taste choices because the base of the recipe remains the same. Just remember though that if you change the protein the calorie consumption may also be altered.
So let's get onto giving you the best part... the recipe for this little beauty!
Like any recipe (and eating healthy from home) the key is to having your groceries already planned. If you have to zip into a supermarket to grab something your chances dramatically increase of picking up those calorie loaded snacks.
We've designed this so you can feed a family of 4. Should there be 1 or 2 of you simply divide the qty by the respective number for your portion control. The recipe allows 2 tortillas per person.
So all that's left to do is cook, create and enjoy! We hope you love it as much as we do!
What You Need
- 4 cups lettuce
- 1 red onion
- 1 cup pineapple
- 2 tomatoes
- 600g prawns/shrimps
- 1 clove garlic
- 1packet soft tortillas (8 in a pack)
Your Simple Steps
- Slice up all your salad items
- Add prawns and garlic to a lightly oiled frypan
- Cook prawns and garlic together. Approx 5mins depending on the size of your prawns
- Heat up your tortillas
- Let your family start creating!
